Classic Homemade Basil Pasta Sauce – The Traditional Way

Classic Homemade Basil Pasta Sauce – The Traditional Way

Nothing beats a classic basil pasta sauce recipe that reminds you of a Sunday family dinner. The secret to a "homemade" feel isn't just the ingredients; it's the technique. We use a slow-infusion method to make your Sturdy Sauce taste like it’s been passed down through generations.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar Sturdy Sauce
  • 1/2 White onion, finely minced
  • 1/2 cup Fresh basil, chiffonade (sliced into thin ribbons)
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano
  • 1 tsp Butter (for that silky restaurant finish)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the minced onion in a bit of butter or oil until completely translucent and sweet.
  2. Add the Sturdy Sauce and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in half of your basil ribbons and the grated cheese, letting the cheese melt into the sauce for a velvety texture.
  4. Serve topped with the remaining fresh basil ribbons for that professional "homemade" look.
