What You’ll Need

  • 1/2 tbsp Sturdy Marinara Sauce
  • Salt and freshly cracked pepper
  • Salmon fillets (about 1 lb / 450g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh parsley

How to Make It

  1. Fillet your salmon into four even portions, pat them dry, and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Once it’s hot, lay the salmon in, seasoned-side down. Give it about 3 minutes per side, then pull it out and set it aside.
  3. Toss your onion and garlic into the same pan. Stir and scoop up all those golden bits left from the salmon.
  4. Sprinkle in your smoked paprika and stir fast. Don’t let it sit or it’ll get weird and bitter.
  5. Pour in the white wine if you’re using it and let it simmer for 1 minute until the alcohol cooks off.
  6. Add that 1/2 cup of Sturdy Marinara Sauce. Stir it up, drop the heat to low-medium, and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  7. Slide the salmon back in and let it hang out in the sauce for 1–2 minutes. Just enough to warm through and soak up the flavor.
  8. Throw on some lemon slices and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Serve it up while it’s hot.
