We’ve all had those nights where the hunger hits before the kitchen is even warm. You need a simple basil pasta sauce recipe that doesn't require a food processor or an hour of simmering. By pairing fresh basil with your favorite Sturdy Sauce, you get that "simmered all day" flavor in the time it takes to boil noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 jar Sturdy Sauce (Tomato-based)
- 1 large handful fresh basil leaves, torn by hand
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- Your choice of high-protein pasta
Instructions
- While your pasta boils, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add smashed garlic cloves for 1 minute just to infuse the oil, then remove them.
- Pour in the Sturdy Sauce and bring to a light simmer.
- Stir in the torn basil leaves right before tossing in the cooked pasta. The residual heat will wilt the basil and release its oils without losing that bright, peppery flavor.
